Begin With The End in Mind
Written by Dr. Adam Coats
Are you who you want to be? Are you everything you dreamed you'd be at this point in your life? Are you doing what you've always wanted to do? If your answer is "yes" to all of these, congratulations! You are in the minority of the world. If your answer is "no" to any of these questions, please continue reading.
Habit #2 from the book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" written by world renowned author Stephen Covey is to "begin with the end in mind." What exactly does that mean? It means we have to spend time visualizing our life and what we want it to look like in the future. It's based on the fact that everything is created twice – once in our minds and then in our physical world. Just as a new building being built is following a blueprint, the mental creation comes first, and the physical creation follows. This means that if we don't spend time visualizing who we are, what we do every day, and what our life looks like, then we leave it up to other people and circumstances to decide those things for us. Obviously, we still have to be proactive, work hard, and make good decisions in order for us to be who we want to be. One of the best decisions we can make to help make our dreams become reality is to include chiropractic care as a part of our lifestyle.
People are living longer than ever. Centenarians, 100-year-old people, are the world's fastest growing population. This means that we will probably live longer than we ever thought. How do we want our lives to look when we get there? Do we want to be sick, suffering, and not remembering who we are or our families? Or do we want to be healthy, vibrant, and spending time with our great-great grandkids?
Your nervous system is your body's natural IT system. Just like a computer or smartphone has an IT system to control its every function, the same is true for your body and your nervous system. Unfortunately, there can be interferences in your nervous system causing your body to function sub-optimally. Think of a time when you've had bad cell service and you can only hear every other word the person on the other end of the line is speaking. How frustrating is that? Similar things happen in your body when there is interference in your nervous system, which lead to sickness and disease. However, the good news is that you can optimize the function of your natural IT system with Lifestyle Chiropractic Care, allowing your body to heal, feel, and function to its maximal capabilities.
I encourage you to begin with the end in mind. Visualize what you want your life to look like when you're 80, 90, 100 years old and beyond. What do you look like? How do you feel? What do you do on a daily basis? Where do you live? Once you've got that image tattooed in your mind, choose to optimize the function of your natural IT system with Lifestyle Chiropractic Care to help you get there. Because whether you want to or not, you will probably live longer than you ever thought.
